It was in Toulouse, France back in 1994 that Fafi Birtak first started painting the streets of her hometown. The prolific young artist created her first (and now world renowned) Fafinette characters, her funny, sexy, seductive girls that would kick start a brand new visual language. No one had seen female characters painted in such a way that played with feminine stereotypes and flipped them to the advantage of female artists worldwide.
Now known as one of the most infamous female street and fine artists in the art and music scene, Fafi has exhibited across America, Asia and Europe with creative collaborations including Colette. She is currently working on her debut graphic novel and runs the Le Cool Cats blog alongside Paris’s Ed Banger Records family including label boss Busy P and designer So Me.
